Boy, 8, gives taped account in shooting deaths – Don’t believe the hype.

Don’t believe the hype folks because this is a really shady thing the police have done. That boy may have been tricked into this confession… it’s been done to children before. Why wasn’t anyone else present during the interrogation and why are only parts of the tape being released? What was said to the boy between his original claim he found two dead men and the newer excerpt where he claims “He thinks he may have shot the men” then buries his head into his arm (Why? Exhaustion?). We need to watch this case and demand the preservation and release of all tapes.

The boy has not entered a plea to the murder charges. One of his defense attorneys said he was not read his rights and did not have an attorney or a parent present during questioning and said that was improper. Police have not responded to those claims.

Franken’s deficit: 239 votes

In a reversal of the previous day, when Coleman had declared victory and suggested that Franken should waive a recount, Coleman kept to himself on Thursday, while Franken called reporters to talk about the prospects for a continued narrowing of the count.

"Coleman said there was no reason for a recount, that there would be no movement," Franken said Thursday, a day after unofficial results initially showed Coleman with a 725-vote advantage. "But you see that it's more than halved and the recount hasn't even started. This election will be decided by the voters, not by the candidates."

Franken’s deficit: 239 votes.

McCain Profiling His Own Supporters

“I saw a couple that had been escorted out and they were confused as well, and the girl was crying, so I said ‘Why are you crying? and she said ‘I already voted for McCain, I’m a Republican, and they said we had to leave because we didn’t look right,’” Elborno said. “They were handpicking these people and they had nothing to go off of, besides the way the people looked.”
